Guest Mix – Henning Boogaloo (Radio Industrie, Switzerland)

Welcome back!

I hope the run on into the weekend finds you well and good?

First up, an announcement from The Hook & Sling compound!

Those of you that frequent this corner of the internet or even dare I say venture down to our monthly nights in Chichester may have been aware of the first Hook & Sling Soul Weekender that we put on at The Vestry, back in February this year.

Although stressful to organise, it turned out to be an amazing three days of great music. Seeing people getting on ‘The Good Foot’ all weekend and enjoying what we had put together prompted us to look at putting together a sequel. This forthcoming extended August Bank Holiday Weekend seemed to be the perfect opportunity! Be sure to pen this one in your diaries!!

We have invited back the people we felt contributed most musically and added a few other special additions which should ensure that this is bigger and better than February.

Kicking us off on Friday 27th August will be The Impellers. We're extremely excited to have them back and I'm sure that anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing them will agree! They will be dropping tracks from their brilliant album, Robot Legs, as well as their forthcoming, as yet untitled new LP. Definately not to be missed!

Saturday 28th August will see battle commence with The Hook & Sling versus What’s Wrong With Groovin’.

What’s Wrong With Groovin’ is a brand new night from Brighton featuring DJs Ed Meme and Beatwell. They are the guys behind the long running Sweatshop Funk night, so expect the cream of funk and soul music, which should give the dance floor a proper workout

It’s a 3pm start on Sunday 29th August and we go right the way through to a late finish as we’re joined by special Guest DJs Eddie Stenner, Keith Barnes, Tony C, The Popcorn King and The Purist. Expect everything from Northern Soul all the way through to 60’s R&B and upfront Funk dance floor fillers.

As before we are making this a free event and entry will be on a first come first served basis. We had pretty impressive queues last time round and it was one in one out on for the majority of the weekend so arrive early to avoid disappointment!!

So onto today’s main event and as I promised last time round I have a very special brand new Guest Mix to help see you through the weekend.

You’re in for a real Soul treat today, Henning Boogaloo hails from Switzerland and aside from being a long time collector and DJ, also runs an excellent Radio show to boot!

This fantastic Guest mix has been on constant play here ever since Henning sent it over for me to check out a week or so ago. If you enjoy his selections today, then be sure to head HERE, where you can catch more of his Soul goodness via his regular Radio shows.

Ladies and Gentlemen, fasten your belts and ensure your seats are in the upright position. Give it up for the one and only Henning Boogaloo!!!!!!.........

“I'm Henning Boogaloo.

I live in Lucerne, Switzerland and have been collecting records for many years, but have been totally addicted to Soul music for about 9 years!

I DJ as a member of the local Spin Club Team and play in an amateur Soul band called "The Choons".
