I hope you all enjoyed some rest and relax-ification over the weekend? An extended four day reprieve from the 'Coal Face' allowed me to get a
few more steps closer to crossing and dotting all the proverbial T's and I's in the planning of our weekender, which has now reached critical mass and is about to blow this very coming Friday!! (where
the hell did the last 4 months go??)
Thankfully though in these time tight situations I can call on the
Funk and Soul cavalry to bring the heat for you!!
A short while back, Russian funk Supremo, DJ Chak contacted me
with news of a great limited edition mix CD that he has put together
with his Fun City Shingaling cohorts Ed and Shaggy.
There were only 50 copies pressed up which were distributed to the
regulars at their monthly night in St. Petersburg to celebrate the
passing of the Fun City Shingaling one year anniversary.
The first instalment of their great CD features two of their previous
guest DJs, WFMU's Mr Finewine who hosts the fantastic Downtown
Soulville radio show and Robert Wells one part of the Ann
Arbor Soul Club.
Those of you in or around St. Petersburg can catch the next Fun
City Shingaling on Friday 5th February 2010 at The Stereo Bar
(Gorohovata 49).
The fun kicks off at 23:00hrs and joining The Fabulous Mr C, Ed and
Shaggy this month will be special guests Mr Wakanda from
Barcelona, Spain and Mr Toast from Vancouver, Canada. For more
